SCOT Mission Statement and Club History

To unite Scots, the descendants of Scots, and others interested in common fraternal, cultural and social bonds.

To aid one another, insofar as conditions and abilities will permit.

To preserve and perpetuate Scottish traditions, ideals, literature, minstrelsy, song, dance, customs, amusements and functions through public concerts, public exhibition and public events.

To encourage, in whatever ways are possible, the formation and perpetuation of a Tulsa-based Pipe and Drum Corps.

Club Crest

The club crest was created in 1978, and incorporates the Oklahoma seal and declaring Green Country as the motto.

Tulsa Tartan

Tulsa is the first city outside of the British Commonwealth to have its own tartan officially registered with Lord Lyon, King or Arms. Designed in 1978 by Ed Morrison, Doug Crawford, Bea Notley and Chief Chinnube MacIntosh to distinctly reflect the Tulsa area. Red is for the Native Americans (Oklahoma is a coined word from Choctaw meaning Red Man). Black is for the oil that brough prosperity to the state. Blue is for Oklahoma's many rivers and lakes. Green is for the lush grassland whence "Green Country" gets its name.
